❓ Do you receive dividends?
No. BlockShark does not distribute profits to SBT holders. We compensate contributions and licensed rights according to transparent policies. No profit sharing, no dividends.
❓ Can you freely stream purchased WAV/FLAC files?
No. Purchasing an audio file does not grant you public performance rights. That's why we developed our comprehensive licensing framework, which regulates master, publishing and mix rights via opt-in.
❓ Why Soulbound Tokens (SBT)?
SBTs create identity instead of speculation. They prevent Sybil attacks, enable fair governance without wallet-hopping and strengthen long-term community engagement.
❓ How does token-gating work?
Via Sign-In with Ethereum (SIWE). Your wallet proves ownership of the corresponding NFT/SBT, without us holding your keys or assets. Non-custodial, secure, transparent.
❓ How is the BlockShark DAO legally organized?
The DAO uses a Swiss DAO wrapper. This legal entity can be chosen as an association or cooperative. Additionally, an operations GmbH or AG is planned for conducting operational business.
❓ What specific policies and regulations govern the DAO's finances?
The DAO's operations and finances are governed by clear policies and regulations. These include the compensation policy, the budget policy and the treasury policy. These frameworks are transparent and verified by the community.
❓ How does BlockShark ensure legal compliance in the financial sector?
BlockShark ensures legal compliance through various measures, including a comprehensive license framework. Furthermore, an AML-compliant non-custodial design and VAT-compliant invoicing are implemented.
❓ How are artist and contributor payouts and compensation legally handled?
Compensation is based on the artist-first licensing approach. Artists retain full control over their rights, with licensing of master, publishing and mix rights via opt-in. Compensation is also performance-based according to the compensation policy. Payouts are automated and transparent.
❓ Are profit shares or dividends distributed through SBTs or access NFTs?
No. BlockShark distributes no dividends and there is no profit sharing for holders of Soulbound Tokens (SBTs). Instead, the DAO compensates contributions and licensed rights according to transparent policies. This is highlighted in a separate note: "No dividends. Compensation is performance-based according to compensation policy".
❓ What happens to the treasury funds?
The DAO Treasury (20% of primary revenue) finances: Infrastructure, development, marketing, community events and strategic partnerships. All expenses are transparently voted on via governance proposals.
